The morning was really cold as it was raining. My lesson starts at 8 am in the morning. I woke up at around 7.15 am to wash up. I did not have breakfast today because it was raining and we were unable to go out to have breakfast. Today was the first lesson of interdisciplinary studies, it was taught by the local lecturer.
At first I find it hard to understand, but after some time I manage to get what he is saying. I have a better understanding of the economic system in china and I also learn about the national bureau of statics of china.
I learnt that in china, there are 23 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities directly and 333 cities. I also learnt about the four economic regions of china, for example, in the east there are Beijing and shanghai, in the middle there are Hubei, Hunan and Shanxi. In china they also have GST, but in china it is called the value added tax. Their tax is 25% and in Singapore our GST is 7%. China and Singapore are similar because both countries economy depends a lot on foreign investment.
After lesson, we went to have our breakfast at the road side stalls. The temperature was less than 10 degrees, we decided to stay in apartment to do our blog and watch television. While watching the television programs, I realised that the advertisement in china were all very long, one advertisement can last for 1 to 2 min. Compare with singapore, the average timing for each advertisment is just a few seconds, I guess the cost of putting an advertisment on tv in china is much cheaper compare to singapore.
After we finished our blog, we went to fast food restaurant to have our lunch,(4pm). I ate a heavy lunch and decided not to have dinner at night, as the weather here will get colder in the night.
