We don’t have to attend lesson today as it was Saturday. I woke up 7.20 am and we board the bus around 8.45am. We were going for a tour in Wuhan, Some of the places that we were be going are the sakura flower in one of the Wuhan university, the famous local food street and the olden castle of china.
The first stop we went was to watch the sakura flower; the tour guide told us that this was the best time of the year to watch the sakura flower. There were plenty of sakura flowers in Wuhan University because during War world II Japanese soldiers took over part china. Wuhan was one of the places that the Japanese had taken over. The government of Japan decided to import sakura flower to china so that Japanese soldiers in china will not miss their homeland in Japan so much. The sakura flower was really beautiful. There were mostly red or white in colour. The place was crowded with people, both locals and tourist. I took some pictures of the sakura flower.
It was really a good experience for me as this was my first time watching sakura and I always thought that sakura flower can only be found in Japan. After touring around in the Wuhan University, our next stop was the famous local food street. It was crowded with people and there were many food stalls. There were foods like, fried bananas, barbecue chicken wings, barbecue oysters, smelly toufu, ice cream, Fruits with a layer of sugar outside, tim sum and noodles. I tried their tim sum, the taste was a bit spicy but still delicious.
The smelly tou fu was not smelly enough compared with countries like Taiwan and Hong kong. I tried their Barbecue oysters with garlic; it was 4 for 10 yuan, the price was really cheap compared with Singapore. The taste of the oysters was juicy and nice. My friends bought the strawberries coated with sugar and I tried some too. They also sell many other kinds of food that I don’t get to see in Singapore, like the duck neck, small snails, red baby lobsters and black smelly tou fu.
The third stop we went was to look at those olden days castle. It was huge; we went up to the top of the castle to take pictures. The local guide also told us the history of the castle. We have two hours to tour around the place; I climb up to the highest part of the mountain with my friend to take some photos.
After the tour, the bus stops us at the Carrefour shopping mall. The six of us (cee group) had our dinner in a Japanese restaurant. The food was really good and price was reasonable. I paid 39 yuan for fish, chicken, beef, oysters, vegetables, soup, cake, and free flow of rice. I really enjoy myself there. When we finish our dinner, we went to Carrefour to buy some stuff. We took a taxi back after a long day.
